The Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) is organizing the conference “20 Years After – The Imprint of the Games.”

Following the remarkable event “Athens 20 Years After” at the Panathenaic Stadium, the Hellenic Olympic Committee is organizing a half-day workshop titled “20 Years After – The Imprint of the Games,” on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 12:00 to 16:00, at the Amphitheater of the National Gallery – Alexandros Soutsos Museum (50 Vasileos Konstantinou Ave., Athens).

The aim of the conference is to demonstrating the significant benefits and sustainable development opportunities the Olympic Games bring to a host city—locally, nationally, and internationally, both in the short and long term.

The conference will explore how the true legacy of the Olympic Games extends far beyond physical infrastructure. The benefits for a host nation are not just about the use of stadiums and buildings—its about reshaping attitudes towards healthier, more resilient ways of living. It’s about fostering a sustainable lifestyle, bridging cultures, working towards shared goals, and investing in education and sportsmanship. Through these discussions, we hope to highlight the profound and lasting impact of the Olympic Games on a nation.
