Spyros Capralos receives the highest distinction of the city of Krakow in recognition of his contribution during the European Games

The President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and President of the European Olympic Committees, Spyros Capralos, was honored with the Honoris Gratia Medal of the City of Krakow for his contribution to the promotion and development of the city through the organization of the European Games, which took place in the Polish city last summer.

Mr. Capralos received the award, which is given to individuals who have made outstanding contribution to the city of Krakow, during the 7th European Athletes’ Forum and Assembly hosted by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) and the Italian National Olympic Committee in Rome on 6-7 November 2023.

Following his award, Mr. Capralos said: “I would like to thank the city of Krakow for this great honor. I have always felt welcomed in this city as a true citizen and have experienced the warmth, hospitality and enthusiasm of its citizens throughout the duration of the Games, from its preparation to its completion. I would like to express my sincere congratulations to all those who contributed to the great success of the Krakow-Malopolska 2023 European Games which was a springboard for a country aspiring to host future Olympic Games”.
