The President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee Spyros Capralos participated in the virtual European Sports Integrity Summit of Economist, entitled “Shielding the true spir[1]it of sports in ambiguous times”, which is being held under the auspices of the Hellenic Olympic

Mr. Capralos spoke about the changes that are happening in our times and we are experiencing the consequences of technological, climate and geopolitical crises, emphasizing the unique position that sport and peaceful competition has, in driving unity and cohesion between different cultures and communities.

The IOC President referred to the great importance of Fair Play which is a concept deeply rooted in the Olympic Movement. It goes beyond the boundaries of the field of play. It is not simply accepting the rules of the game, but it also embodies the spirit of sportsmanship, integrity, and respect for one another. He added that in order to preserve the integrity of sports, we must foster an environment where Fair Play is celebrated and rewarded.
