Famous actress Nia Vardalos begins collaboration with the Hellenic Olympic Committee ahead of Los Angeles 2028

The President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Isidoros Kouvelos, has officially announced the start of a collaboration with acclaimed actress Nia Vardalos in the lead-up to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Nia Vardalos, who is currently in Greece for performances of the play Tiny Beautiful Things at the Pallas Theater, visited the President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee at his office. They discussed the potential role the renowned actress could play in supporting the Greek Olympic team at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Oscar-nominated Vardalos offered to assemble, together with her collaborators, a team that will support the work of the Hellenic Olympic Committee in multiple ways in preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games.

Mr. Kouvelos, who met with Nia Vardalos along with the Secretary General of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Stefanos Chandakas, the President of the Olympic Torch Relay Commission, Thomas Tokas, and the co-director of the play Tiny Beautiful Things, Spyros Katsaganis, stated:

“It was a great pleasure to welcome the esteemed actress Nia Vardalos to the Hellenic Olympic Committee. She proudly showcases our nation on the international stage, and her contribution is deeply valued. Nia immediately embraced my proposal and agreed to collaborate in support of the Greek Olympic team, whether through the Greek diaspora or any other means she finds appropriate. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for her commitment to our shared goal of ensuring the strongest possible representation of Greece at the 2028 Olympic Games.”
