“The Hellenic Olympic Committee joins the EU funded project “OCLP” for the development of elite athletes’ leadership skills”
The Hellenic Olympic Committee is participating in the new EU – funded project “Olympic Committees’ Leadership Program – OCLP”, which kicked – off in Warsaw, Poland.
Through the “Olympic Committees’ Leadership Program” (OCLP), the Hellenic Olympic Committee is committed to contributing to the development of leadership skills for elite athletes in Olympic sports and key actors within the Greek sports community. Additionally, the project aims to promote an understanding of dual career amongst elite athletes, bridging the gap between sports and an athlete’s professional life after the conclusion of their athletic career. As part of this initiative, a series of seminars and a mentoring program are planned, where participants will receive training from experts in leadership.
The consortium of the two – year OCLP project (January 2024 – December 2025) consists of the Olympic Committees of Poland (Project coordinator), Greece, Croatia, Ukraine, the European Network for Innovation and Knowledge “EUNIK” specializing in sports research, and the Polish Institute for Sport Governance “Fundacja Institute for Sport Governance” (ISG).
During their first meeting, the partners discussed the foreseen actions and expressed their enthusiasm and certainty for the project’s successful implementation all while having in mind the development of elite athletes’ leadership skills.
