From Thrace and Alexandroupolis the Olympic Flame lights up the whole world

The Olympic Flame arrived in Alexandroupolis on Monday evening, marking the conclusion of the 7th day of the Olympic Torch Relay for the “Paris 2024” Olympic Games.

The altar beneath the City Lighthouse was lit by Olympic and World Javelin Champion Kostas Gatsioudis, who hails from Didymoteicho.

On Monday morning, the Olympic Flame commenced its journey from New Beach in Thessaloniki, passed through the hands of gymnastics champion Irini Mandraveli.

The Flame then proceeded to the impressive theater of Ancient Philippi and arrived in Kavala, where it received a remarkable reception.

The Torch Run continued in Xanthi, with the central square flooded with people, and continued in Komotini, where high jump champion Kostas Baniotis lit the altar.

On the 8th day of the Olympic Torch Relay for Paris 2024, the Olympic Flame will pass through Eleftheroupolis, Veria, Vergina, and Aiges before concluding its journey in Ioannina.
