
The European Olympic Committees donate 250,000 euros for the earthquakes in Turkey
The European Olympic Committees (EOC) confirmed today that it will donate a total of € 250,000 to help assist those affected by the devasting earthquakes in Türkiye.
In agreement with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the EOC has decided to donate money from the special activities fund to the Turkish Olympic Committee (TOC), to help the Olympic community and the local population in the areas affected by the natural disaster.
EOC President Spyros Capralos said: “We have all been shocked and saddened by the devastating earthquakes witnessed in Türkiye and Syria last Monday. We offered to help our friends at the Turkish Olympic Committee in any way possible. That’s why we decided to transfer money from our special activities fund to help assist those in the sporting world and beyond affected by the disaster.”
