Miltos Tentoglou

Gold medal, Athletics – Long Jump, Tokyo 2020
Miltos Tentoglou became Olympic champion by winning the gold medal in the men’s long jump final with a jump of 8.41 m, a performance he achieved in his sixth and last jump, reversing the situation, as he was only 4th in the rankings up to that point.
After an incredible competition, the Greek champion had to reach his last jump to make the perfect “flight” and confirm the title of the best jumper he had travelled to Tokyo with, having achieved the best performance in the world that year with 8.60.
With the perfect jump in his 6th attempt, Miltos Tentoglou not only regained an opportunity to win a medal but also won the gold medal in a historic moment for Greek athletics, as it was the first medal won by a Greek athlete in the long jump in the history of Olympic Games.
Gold Medal, Athletics – Long Jump Paris 2024
Miltos Tentoglou was crowned Olympic champion in the men’s long jump final for the second consecutive time with a jump of 8.48 meters. He started with an initial jump of 8.27 meters, and with his second attempt, he secured first place. It was a challenging competition due to the constantly changing wind conditions, and he was unable to jump further in his remaining attempts.
It is worth noting that he is the only athlete, besides Carl Lewis, to have won two consecutive Olympic gold medals in the long jump.
