The President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Member of the International Olympic Committee and President of the European Olympic Committees Spyros Capralos was honored by the Ambassador of Japan to Greece Yasunori Nakayama with the Distinction of the Ambassador of Japan for 2020 for his effective contribution to the preparations of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere where Mr. Capralos and Mr. Nakayama had the opportunity to discuss the preparation of both countries for the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games to be held in a few days and the possibilities of a bilateral cooperation in the future.

Mr. Capralos warmly thanked the Japanese Ambassador and expressed his emotion and gratitude for the special honor of the distinction. He concluded by wishing Japan the best of luck for hosting the leading sports event and sent his wishes to the Japan Team for Olympic medals and distinctions.
