Τhe Hellenic Olympic Committee and its “Sport and Environment” Commission, in collaboration with the National Olympic Academy of Greece and the Laboratory of Volunteering for Sport and Social Services of the University of the Peloponnese, co-organized a special coastal cleanup activity that was crowned with great success!

With the valuable support of the General Secretariat for Shipping and Ports / Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, the Sports Office of the Hellenic Coast Guard, and the Administration of the Peace and Friendship Stadium, Olympians, internationally distinguished athletes and sports clubs, federation members, and active citizens joined forces for a cleaner environment.

The event took place in a warm and optimistic atmosphere, with dozens of volunteers demonstrating in practice that sport and respect for the environment go hand in hand. Participants collected a significant amount of waste from the coastline, sending a strong message of awareness for the protection of the marine ecosystem.

Through initiatives like this, the Hellenic Olympic Committee reaffirms its commitment to promoting the values of sustainability, social responsibility, and Olympic education. The success of this initiative highlights the power of collaboration among institutions, athletes, and citizens, united by a common goal—a cleaner and more sustainable planet.
