Spyros Capralos as speaker in The Economist’s Sports Business Summit

The President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and IOC Member, Spyros Capralos,was a keynote speaker in the Sports Business Summit for Southeast Europe,which was successfully organized by The Economist in Athens on 20th September2019.
The Summit attracted distinguished personalities from the worldwidesports world. Withthe topic of Spyros Capralos’ speech being “The Role of the Olympic Games inSport and Society”, he had the opportunity to explicitly outline the role andwork of the International Olympic Committee. Moreover, he touched on theimpact of the Olympic Games in worldwide sport and its contribution toimproving modern society, not only through the Games themselves but alsothrough the Olympic values.A roundtable discussion with the HOC President Spyros Capralos, the Greek DeputyMinister for Sport Lefteris Avgenakis,  John Andrews, consultant editor ofThe Economist and ΑlecPapadakis, chief executive officer of United Soccer League, followed. Thediscussion dealt with the current state of Greek Sport, the Greek model and theOlympic Games of Tokyo.
