Olympic Festival Paris 2024 at the SNFCC: A festival for all ages dedicated to the Olympic year

From July 26 to August 11, the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC), in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) and under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), is organizing the Olympic Festival Paris 2024. The Stavros Niarchos Park at SNFCC will be transformed into a unique meeting point for young and old during the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Although this summer the heart of the world’s top sport event will beat in France, everyone can get a taste of the 33rd Summer Olympic Games at the Olympic Festival Paris 2024 at SNFCC!

Every day from 19:00 to 21:00, a rich program featuring various activities, artistic events, and broadcasts of the Games from the morning will create the mosaic of the Olympic Festival Paris 2024.

The Olympic Festival is accessible to everyone, with free entry to all activities and no reservation required.

Program:

Friday, July 26

Great Lawn, Stavros Niarchos Park

19:15 The Olympic Cypher, a dance performance

20:30 Live broadcast of the Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games will be broadcast live on a giant screen at the Great Lawn of Stavros Niarchos Park. This year, the spectacle will be unique as, for the first time, the Opening Ceremony will take place outside a stadium, on the River Seine.

Before the Opening Ceremony, visitors will have the chance to watch the dance performance titled “The Olympic Cypher,” conceived, choreographed, and directed by Elias Hatzigeorgiou, highlighting breakdance as a new sport in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Elias Hatzigeorgiou and his team of dancers create a large dance circle (Cypher). The dancers manage the space, time, and number of people in the circle, sometimes improvising around common conceptual axes and other times through choreographed parts, delivering a unique performance each time to the original electronic music of Alexis Falanta.
