    Bronze Medal, 31 July 2024, Judo, -90kg. Paris2024

The remarkable Thodoris Tselidis defeated Spain’s Tristani Mosakhlisvili in the judo final (90kg), securing Greece’s first medal at the Paris Olympic Games and the third in the country’s history in judo. The 27-year-old, ranked 15th in the world, finished his match in the best possible way, winning 1-0 against the Spaniard in the repechage final, and climbed to the third step of the podium. The Greek champion dominated the entire match, taking the lead early on, while his opponent received a penalty for passive play and inability to attack the Greek judoka.

    They said..

“I’m very happy that I was able to keep my promise and bring home the medal. My dream has come true; this is the happiest day of my life! I was hoping for a better color, but what’s done is done, and I’m very happy! I’m proud to have won the first medal for our country. The match against Grigoryan in the repechage semifinal was the most important for me, as it got me to the final, and we are also friends.”
