Bronze medal, April 9, 1896, Petros Persakis, Rings. Athens 1896

In competitions, among the eight athletes were two Greeks, Yiannis Mitropoulos, who took first place, and Petros Persakis of the Panhellenios AC. Persakis, who also participated in the 1906 Games, finished third in the race and was also second in the individual competition. Texts from that time mention that he did as well as the first two, Mitropoulos and the German Hermann Weingärtner.
