Bronze medal, April 11, 1896, Dimitris Drivas, 100m. Athens 1896

Only sailors of the Greek Navy whose ships were anchored in Piraeus participated. Only three sailors were thrown into the sea and the victory was won by Yannis Malokinis from Spetses, who was then serving on the battleship “Hydra”, with a time of 2.20.4. Second place went to Spyros Chazapis from Andros and third to Dimitris Drivas. There has never been a similar event in the history of the Olympic Games.
