They said..

“When I was young and saw the Olympic Games for the first time, I told my mother that one day I also wanted to go to the Olympic Games and become a great athlete. After 20 years, I can now say that I am great. What has happened is incredible. It’s something I will always cherish in my memory.”

“Now that I’ve calmed down, I think about everything I’ve been through as an athlete, as a person. The difficulties, the depression, the racism, the injuries. I can say that all of these made me the person I am today. Strong, confident, a bronze Olympic medalist.”
